Home Sweet Home

We're back!

After two weeks on the road, your Winterhawks have picked up a 2-1-0 record through three games and are on a roll heading into their first home game of the year. Gabe Klassen (7pts) and James Stefan (6pts) have led the way offensively and 15 different skaters have recorded at least one point, while the team's blue line features three NHL-drafted defensemen who each returned to the roster before last weekend's game in Seattle.

Five rookies - Luke Brunen, Carsyn Dyck, Hudson Darby, Cohen Massey and Tyson Yaremko - remain with the Hawks for tonight's tilt. Massey and Brunen made their WHL debuts in Wenatchee two weeks ago, and Dyck, Darby, Massey and Yaremko have each made an impact in their first full WHL seasons after picking up a handful of games in the past.

Make sure you're in your seats early as this year's team is introduced at center ice before puck drop, and look out for light-up batons to create an incredible atmosphere in the VMC.

Playoff Rematch

Hawks fans will fondly remember April's 4-1 series victory over the Silvertips, culminating in Robbie Fromm-Delorme's electrifying OT winner in game five. But with the new season comes new competition, and the Silvertips have started just as strong as the Winterhawks.

Dominik Rymon and Teague Patton have hit the ground running with five points apiece to help Everett to a 3-1-0 start to the year. Austin Roest and Ben Hemmerling also figure to play a key role for the 'Tips after returning from NHL camps, and Tyler Palmer provides a steady hand between the pipes.

Two teams at the top of their game - it's another classic U.S. Division clash in the VMC!

Follow the Leader

Yesterday, the Winterhawks announced their leadership group for the 2023-24 campaign. Three familiar faces will sport letters on their sweaters this year, with Gabe Klassen (C), Kyle Chyzowski (A) and Jack O'Brien (A) reprising their roles from last year.

"We are excited to have a veteran leadership group back this year. Gabe, Jack and Kyle represent everything we believe is important to be a captain in our organization," said Winterhawks Head Coach and General Manager Mike Johnston. "And as I mentioned to the team, I am looking forward to other leaders emerging from the dressing room as the season progresses."

Give a cheer for our leaders as they're introduced tonight!
