Rivalry Weekend
There's no better rivalry in the WHL than Portland/Seattle, and fans of the two teams are being treated to a double feature this weekend. Tonight's tilt in Kent kicks off a home-and-home set - two of the final three meetings of the regular season between the Hawks and T-Birds - and marks the first time this season the teams have met twice in one weekend.
And with both clubs jockeying for playoff seeding and home-ice advantage, the stakes are high each time they meet. We're in for a good one tonight (and tomorrow!), so sit back and enjoy, Hawks fans!
Primetime
Catch us on the big screen this evening! Take a break from March Madness and flip over to Portland's CW (ch. 3 & 703) at 6:00 to see tonight's battle.
Tonight's game is one of just two remaining TV games this year - click here for the full schedule.
Extra Hockey
Portland and Seattle have battled three times at accesso ShoWare Center in 2022, and each contest has required overtime or shootout. The Winterhawks have taken wins in all three of those matchups, though would certainly prefer to get the job done in regulation time to keep a point out of Seattle's hands.
Luca Cagnoni was the hero last weekend, scoring the lone goal of the shootout in the 14th overall attempt.
WIN A TOYOTA:
Back for another season, fans 18+ who reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington can ENTER TO WIN a brand new Toyota car, truck, or SUV.
Each game this season, one lucky fan will have their entry drawn and they will have a chance to win our grand prize if they get all five game predictions correct.
Tonight, we are cheering on: Greg R. from Vancouver, WA
What our Hawks fan could win: A brand new C-HR
What needs to happen?
Portland Winterhawks (4) beat the Seattle Thunderbirds (2)
Marcus Nguyen scores the first Winterhawks goal.
Portland goaltenders make 25 total saves.
Seattle goaltenders make 38 total saves.
Good luck tonight, Greg!
