Portland, Ore. - Jaydon Dureau grabbed his second hat-trick of the year, Taylor Gauthier made 33 saves and the Winterhawks picked up their fourth straight road win over the Thunderbirds with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night.

Dureau's three-goal showing was the first by a Portland player against Seattle since Seth Jarvis did so in April 2021.

The 20-year-old Tampa Bay Lightning prospect got on the board early as Portland's power play worked its magic. Clay Hanus found Cross Hanas on the half-wall, who then threw a pass to James Stefan at the goal line for a quick cross-crease feed to the waiting Dureau.

After more than 40 scoreless minutes, Dureau netted his second, collecting Hanus' stretch pass at Seattle's blue line and flying past the T-Birds defenders for a tidy breakaway finish. Seattle responded two minutes later with Jordan Gustafson's penalty-shot strike, but Dureau capped off the hat-trick just over 60 seconds later with a third straight power-play marker, lifting home a rebound from Tyson Kozak's shot.

Marcus Nguyen put the game to bed at 10:08 of the third when he outmuscled a Seattle defender and slotted the puck through Thomas Milic's five hole to make it 4-1 Hawks.

The two teams will face off once again back in Portland on Sunday at 5:00 P.M.
