No Shutout, but Another Win for the ICE

Conor Geekie's 19th goal of the season at 19:34 of the second period proved to be the game winner as the Winnipeg ICE beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 Friday night.

Mikey Milne, Owen Pederson and Carson Lambos also scored as the ICE improved their record to 42-9-3-2.

Tyson Zimmer scored twice for the Wheat Kings, who have now lost five straight games. Rylan Roersma had the other goal.

Zimmer's first goal of the game in the second period ended a streak of 325 minutes and 17 seconds of shutout hockey for the ICE at home.

Winnipeg also went 241 minutes and 23 seconds through their last five games of not allowing a goal against.

Daniel Hauser made 18 of 21 saves for the win in goal while Ethan Kruger stopped 34 of 38 for the Wheat Kings.

Winnipeg is now 7-1-1 against Brandon this season. The final game of their 10 game regular season series, presented by Taylor McCaffery Lawyers, is tomorrow (Saturday) night at Westoba Place.
