SEASON-SERIES
Oct. 25 N. Charleston Coliseum 6:05 pm
Wichita is 0-0-0-0 vs. South Carolina
HEAD-TO-HEAD - This is the first meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Stingrays. All-time, Wichita is 0-2-0-0 in the series.
TODAY - Wichita begins its first road trip of the season tonight against the South Carolina Stingrays. This is the first-ever visit for the Thunder to the Low Country and first of a four-game road swing on the East Coast. The Thunder heads to Atlanta for a morning date with the Gladiators on Thursday and will finish the weekend off with a pair of games against Greenville on Friday and Sunday afternoon. South Carolina played three exhibition games in Alaska before returning home last weekend and lost in their home opener in overtime to Greenville by the final of 4-3.
WEEKEND RECAP - Wichita began its second week of action with one game against Missouri on Friday night. The Mavericks jumped out to a 1-0 lead before the Thunder scored the next four. Wichita went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed off all eight of Missouri's man advantages while also adding two shorthanded goals.
BRICK WALL - Scott Greenham got his second-consecutive start Friday night and didn't disappoint. He stopped 39 of 40 shots he faced en route to his first win of the season. He pushed his goals-against average down to 2.53 and save percentage to .934. Today, he was named as a runner-up for Goalie of the Week.
KRUSHIN' IT - Alex Krushelnyski has made an immediate impact to the Thunder line-up since being assigned by Binghamton. The Los Angeles, CA native has three points (1G, 2A) in two games and had two helpers last Friday night. Krushelnyski is seven goals shy of 50 for his career.
JACK BE NIMBLE - Jack Rodewald has goals in two-straight games. On Friday, he scored two minutes after Vincent Arseneau gave the Thunder a 2-1 advantage. The Winnipeg, Alberta native now has 20 goals as a pro after recording 18 last season with Orlando.
FRESH BLOOD - The Stingrays welcome 10 players who are playing professional hockey for the first time this season, including six forwards, three defenseman and goaltender Adam Carlson. Nine of the 10 newcomers were played NCAA hockey in 2015-16.
THUNDERBOLTS... Scott Greenham is tied for ninth in the league in save percentage (.934)...Macoy Erkamps recorded his first multi-point game with two assists...Wichita is 12-for-12 on the penalty kill...Wichita is tied for second in shorthanded goals scored (2)...
SOUTH CAROLINA NOTES - Ryan Warsofsky was named the seventh head coach in team history...Danny New leads the team with a goal and an assist...Parker Milner, who was in Missouri a year ago, was
signed by the Hershey Bears in the offseason and is with South Carolina on loan...
