Game Day Build-Up: Senators vs. Rocket, February 9

February 9, 2019 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Belleville Senators News Release

The set-up

The Belleville Senators will look to build on Friday's win over Laval as they complete a home-and-home with the Rocket tonight at CAA Arena.

Belleville (22-23-2-3) pushed its point streak to seven games Friday night as the team remains in sixth place in the North Division and six points behind Utica for the division's final playoff spot.

Laval (19-21-4-4) are now winless in their last five games. The Rocket's 124 goals are the fewest in the Eastern Conference.

Belleville holds a 13-8-0-1 record at home while Laval have won just six times away from Place Bell.

Roster notes

No overnight changes for the Senators so far despite both Ottawa losing and Belleville losing players to injury in their last outing.

Marcus Hogberg started Friday for Belleville so signs seem to point to Filip Gustavsson starting tonight especially as the Sens play again Sunday afternoon.

Jim O'Brien, Boston Leier, Joseph LaBate, Andrew Sturtz, Christian Wolanin, Stuart Percy, Justin Falk and Morgan Klimchuk are out for Belleville.

Previous history

Belleville is 4-4 against the Rocket this season with Laval with two of the wins coming at Place Bell. The Senators have won both contests in Belleville this season scoring 13 times over the two games.

Who to watch

Logan Brown continues to fill the stat sheet as he's on a six-game point streak and has six points in his last two games. The rookie forward has 29 points (11 goals) in 34 games.

Laval defenceman Xavier Ouelett scored Friday and has 17 points in his 20 games with Laval this year.

Where to watch

Saturday's game starts at 7:00pm and can also be seen on AHLTV. Fans can also watch tonight's contest at Shoeless Joe's in Belleville.

The radio broadcast on CJBQ 800 begins at 6:50pm with Jack Miller on the call and Paul Svoboda on colour.
