'Canes Reassign Fleury to Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Haydn Fleury to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fleury, 22, has tallied four points (1g, 3a) in 15 AHL games with Charlotte and one assist in 12 NHL games with Carolina this season. The 6'3", 208-pound defenseman has registered 33 points (10g, 23a) in 88 career AHL games with the Checkers and nine assists in 79 career NHL games with the Hurricanes. The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
