Tonight

The Saskatoon Blades (15-13-1-0) return to play following a nine-day layaway for the Christmas break, traveling north on Highway 11 to Prince Albert to take on the Raiders (12-14-1-1).

This is the third straight meeting between the two rivals, with both squads splitting a home-and-home series prior to the break.

The Blades topped the Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre on Dec. 18th by a 3-2 score, but Prince Albert returned the favour the following night with a 4-1 victory at SaskTel Centre.

This is the first of four games in six nights for the Blades. They'll welcome the Red Deer Rebels to SaskTel Centre on Tuesday evening before hosting the Raiders on Thursday, and wrap up a busy week of play on New Year's Day, welcoming the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Who to Watch

Alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic was honoured as the Foursight Player of the Month for December/November ahead of the Blades last game. The Chestermere, AB product leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in 29 games.

Import forward Egor Sidorov is expected back in the lineup after representing Team Belarus at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Division 1A Championships earlier this month. The rookie forward scored two goals and one assist, helping Belarus capture the gold medal, and advance to the top tier of the World Juniors in 2023.

MORE ON SIDOROV'S GOLD MEDAL

Rookie forward Misha Volotovskii scored the illustrious Teddy Bear Toss goal against Prince Albert on Dec. 18th, sending a flurry of fur to SaskTel Centre's ice midway through the third period. The freshman centre has two goals this season and is hoping to find a bit more offense in the second half of the campaign.
