Pats Open Second-Half Schedule against Oil Kings at the Brandt Centre

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (12-16-0-0) open their second-half schedule against the Edmonton Oil Kings (22-6-2-1) at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats are coming off a home-and-home split on December 17th and 18th against the Moose Jaw Warriors, winning 6-5 on home ice before losing 5-3 on the road. They are now 3-2 over their last five games heading into the second-half schedule.

On the other side, the Oil Kings are on a three game winning-streak after they finished their first-half with wins over Calgary (5-2), and Swift Current (8-5 & OTW 3-2). Edmonton is still without five key players, as Kaiden Guhle (CAN), Dylan Guenther (CAN), Jake Neighbours (CAN), Sebastian Cossa (CAN) and Jakob Demek (SLV) are all away at the 2022 IIHF World Juniors.

HEADLINES

Pats rookie defenceman Stanislav Svozil was named the Player of the Game for Czechia, scoring his first career World Juniors goal in a Czechia 6-3 loss to Canada in the 2022 IIHF World Juniors opener. Pats forward Connor Bedard dressed in his first career World Juniors game, recording an assist on Canada's tying goal, helping the Canadians to victory.

The Regina Pats are 6-6 since they parted ways with Dave Struch on November 18th, with John Paddock taking over as the Head Coach...they've been outscored 48-to-44 during that time, while being outshot in five of those 12 games, with equal shots twice (415 SF / 407 SA).
