TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The sixth of eight meetings and the third of four here. The ‘Gades are 2-3 vs. the Bullies, 2-0 at home. Both ‘Gades wins have come in overtime. The Bullies are 0-2-4 all-time at Richmond, with only one game decided by more than one goal. Lars Pettersen has five points vs. the Bullies. Kevin Colley has eight vs. Richmond. The ‘Gades are in a fifth place tie with Reading in the Northeast Division, four points behind Trenton. Atlantic City leads the Northeast with 53 points, one ahead of Greensboro.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades lost 7-2 at Greensboro last night. The Generals blew the game open with three straight second period goals after Nick Lent scored to cut the Greensboro lead to 2-1. Ole Kjenstead had a hat trick. Mark Turner tied a Generals club record with a five point night. Lars Pettersen also scored for Richmond. The Generals out-shot the ‘Gades 48-35 and went 2-4 on the power play. The Bullies lost 3-2 at Roanoke Tuesday. Atlantic City jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead. Roanoke tied the game with two power play goals in the second period and scored the game-winner midway through the third.

‘GADES NOTES: The seven goals scored by the Generals last night is the most allowed by the ‘Gades in a game this season. The 48 shots fired by the Generals is the second highest total against Richmond this season. The ‘Gades are in a stretch of five games in six nights and eight in 10. Jon Zion was called back to Cincinnati of the AHL yesterday. Jayme Filipowicz remains on a call up to St. John of the AHL. Five Renegades have seen action in the AHL this season. Richard Pitirri has missed five games with a shoulder injury. Lars Pettersen has points in nine straight games. Peter Hogan has six goals in his last 13 games. His career high for a season is seven (with Florida in ‘00-'01).. Richmond has lost three straight overtimes after winning their first seven. The ‘Gades are tied for the league lead with 10 shorthanded goals. Richmond has allowed 23 goals in their last four losses. Nine of those have come on the power play. The ‘Gades are now third in the league in shots allowed and sixth in penalty killing. Three ‘Gades were selected to play in the ECHL All Star Game January 21 in Estero, FL: Jamie Herrington, Jon Zion, and Dan Lombard.

BULLIES NOTES: Goaltender Scott Stirling is on re-call to Hershey of the AHL, his third AHL club of the season. The Bullies had three players picked to play in the ECHL All Star Game: Kevin Colley, Scott Matzka, and Stirling. Colley and Stirling were picked as starters. Bullies head coach Mike Haviland (a member of the original Renegades in 1990-'91) will co-coach the Northern Conference stars. The Bullies are ninth in the league in goals for (3.56) and sixth in goals against (2.9). Three Bullies are on IR: Matzka, Stefan Rivard, and Ryan Mougenel. With Stirling on AHL re-call, the Bullies have added Jason Siitonen as an emergency back-up.
