Game Preview The K-Wings will try to build off their huge win last night against Missouri, as they host the Rockford IceHogs. This is the sixth of eight meetings between the teams this season, and the third at Wings Stadium. The K-Wings are 2-3-0 against the IceHogs this year; however, they are 2-0-0 at Wings Stadium.
Kalamazoo will debut their two newest players, as both Dan Hodge and Shawn Roed are expected to play their first games as a Kalamazoo Wings. Both players were acquired by Kalamazoo from a trade with the Quad City Mallards for player to be named Monday, and the K-Wings first and second round picks in this year's UHL Amateur Draft.
Something will have to give for the IceHogs here tonight. Rockford enters Kalamazoo on a 3 game winning streak, however, they also enter Wings Stadium on a 5 game road losing streak. The IceHogs are in second place in the Western Conference thanks in part to their 15-5-2 record at home, however, Rockford is just 4-12-3 away from the Metrocenter. Rockford is led by rookie of the year candidate Steve Cygan. Steve leads his entire team, and all UHL rookies in scoring with 42 points.
The K-Wings are led by Richard Keyes, who leads the team in scoring with 38 points. Keyes also leads the K-Wings in goals scored with 22. The 22 goals places Richard in a tie for second in the UHL.

Two New Players The K-Wings made a trade yesterday with the Quad City Mallards. Kalamazoo received defenseman Dan Hodge and forward Shawn Roed. Hodge's father played in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks, while his brother Ken Jr. played in the NHL for the Boston Bruins. Ken Jr. was also a member of the Kalamazoo Wings (IHL) during the 87-88 and 88-89 seasons. Roed played just 16 games with Quad City this season, however, Roed still leads the entire league in shooting percentage, as well as all rookies in power play goals scored with 5.
Roed Block If Shawn Roed's name sounds familiar to K-Wings fans, it should. Shawn is the younger brother of K-Wings forward Peter Roed. This will be the first time in their careers that the two brothers have played on the same team.
Ford and Trew Placed on IR The Kalamazoo Wings have placed both Michael Ford and Jordan Trew on the team's injured reserved list. Ford has been placed on the 10-Day IR, while Trew has been placed on the 7-day IR.
Lucky Number Five With their victory 5-4 last night against Missouri, the K-Wings have scored 5 or more goals three times this season. Kalamazoo is 3-0-0 this season when they tally 5 or more goals in a game this year.
