Funk Pioneers Cameo and Dazz Band to Highlight 2016 Summer Madness Concert at U.S. Steel Yard

GARY, IN - The Gary SouthShore RailCats are proud to announce the 2016 Summer Madness Concert on Saturday, July 30th at 6:30PM. The Summer Madness concert, presented by West Side Alumni Class of 1975 and sponsored by Each One Teach One Foundation, will feature punk legends Cameo and Dazz Band.

Grammy-nominated Cameo came to fame in the early 1980s with hits such as Shake Your Pants and Alligator Woman, but they hit #1 on the Billboard Dance charts with Word Up! in 1986. Word Up! won Cameo the Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single as well as the NME Award for Best Dance Record.

Dazz Band hit the scene in the late 1970s out of Cleveland, Ohio with funk hits on Motown Records like Let the Music Play and Knock! Knock!. The Dazz Band's breakthrough came with the hit Let It Whip off of the Keep It Live (1982) album. Let It Whip reached No. 1 on the R&B charts, and achieved a Grammy Award and continues in recurring radio and Sirius XM rotation.

Tickets for the concert are available at railcatsbaseball.com and start at $35 for a limited time. RailCats season ticket and luxury suite owners have first right to purchase their same seats for this event with a deadline of Friday, June 24th at 5:00pm.
