Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- Growing up, Katelyn McLean's dream was to be a member of the Detroit Red Wings. This Monday that dream becomes a reality as she joins the staff of Olympia Entertainment as their Kids Club/Youth Hockey assistant.
McLean, who has been with the Kalamazoo Wings organization for just over a year, will be assisting with all Detroit Red Wings youth hockey programs, camps, College Hockey in the "D", and day to day responsibilities of the Kids Club.
"Whether it is a player or a member of our front office staff, we (K-Wings) are all about doing everything we can to support and assist our talented team members to achieve their dreams," said general manager Jim Burlew. "Katelyn is a very talented individual and we are very proud of her and very excited about her new endeavor."
While with the K-Wings, McLean generated excitement for fans of the team through game-day experiences, intermission activities as well as helping with other non-game related promotions. Since May, McLean has been working in the K-Wings front office as a ticket sales representative.
Tickets for all 36 K-Wings home games and two preseason games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
Regular season ticket prices for home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and the New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more. Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan. These plans, along with full-season and group ticket packages may be ordered through the K-Wings Sales office by calling (269) 743-6011.
Kalamazoo's 40th Anniversary season will commence on Saturday, October 19th at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana against the Evansville IceMen.
The K-Wings will drop the puck for their home opener on Saturday, October 26th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Evansville IceMen during the 10th Annual Orange Ice Game presented by Meijer and WZUU (92.5 FM). Fans are encouraged to dress in costumes for Halloween festivities including a chance to win $100 for both an adult and child in the K-Wings' best costume contest.
