Wranglers Announce Training Camp Roster and Schedule

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced the team's training camp roster and schedule Friday, with five previously unannounced players rounding out the 24-man squad.

The Wranglers training camp roster is as follows:

Goaltenders - Mitch O'Keefe, Travis Fullerton, Ilya Bryzgalov

Defensemen - Mike Baran, Charlie Cook, Eddie DelGrosso, Bryant Doerrsam, Ryan Forgaard, Nolan Julseth-White, Jeff May, Ben Woodley

Forwards - Yannick Dube, Carlo Finucci, Chris Francis, Adam Hughesman, Adam Huxley, Geoff Irwin, Alexandre Mentink, Chad Nehring, Brian Nugent, Geoff Paukovich, Cody Purves, Robbie Smith, Matt Tassone

Baran ("Bare-an"), 24, recorded 14 goals and 15 assists in four years (2008-12) at Amherst College, and was named team captain his senior year. Last season, the defenseman split time between the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL)'s Mississippi Riverkings and ECHL's Alaska Aces, tallying three goals and 14 assists.

Doerssam ("Doors-am"), 23, opened the 2012-13 season with Allan Cup Hockey's Welland Whalers, notching a goal and an assist in three games. He finished the year with the SPHL's Huntsville Havoc, collecting five goals and five assists in 39 games.

Dube ("Do-BAY"), 21, spent the past four seasons (2009-13) in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, playing for the Victoriaville Tigres (2009-12) and Gatineau Olympiques (2012-13). Named alternate captain of the Tigres his last two seasons, and team captain with the Olympiques, Dube racked up 72 goals and 80 assists during his time in the league.

Mentink, 21, comes to the Wranglers after three years (2010-13) in Quebec Junior AAA Hockey. With the Lachine Maroons (2010-11), Terrebonne Cobras (2010-13), and Saint-Leonard Arctic (2012-13), Mentink earned 41 goals and 42 assists.

Nugent, 25, posted nine goals and six assists in four years (2009-13) at Northern Michigan University. Before college, the forward captained the British Columbia Hockey League's Victoria Grizzlies with 52 points (27 goals, 25 assists) in 53 games.

Wranglers training camp opens today, and team practices begin Friday, Oct. 4. The Wranglers will wrap up training camp with one home preseason game against the Ontario Reign on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2:05 p.m. Tickets are $15, and when purchased online, part of the proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and help the Wranglers send 10 kids to MDA summer camp.

Practices at SOBE Ice Arena, located at 2400 North Rancho Drive, are open to the public. Practices at Orleans Arena are closed to the public. Saturday, Oct. 5: Practice at SOBE Ice Arena from 7 - 8:15 a.m., Wranglers Fan Fest at Scooter's Pub (6200 S. Rainbow Blvd.) from 3-7 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 6: Practice at SOBE Ice Arena from 8 - 9:15 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 7: Practice at SOBE Ice Arena from 9:15 - 10:45 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 8: Practice at SOBE Ice Arena from 9:15 - 10:45 a.m., team autograph session at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower (2000 S. Las Vegas Blvd.) from 12:15 - 1 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 9: Wranglers @ Colorado Eagles road preseason game - Budweiser Events Center, 6:05 p.m. PST

Thursday, Oct. 10: Wranglers @ Colorado Eagles road preseason game - Budweiser Events Center, 6:05 p.m. PST

Friday, Oct. 11: Travel Day

Saturday, Oct. 12: Wranglers @ Ontario Reign road preseason game - Citizens Business Bank Arena, 7 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 13: Wranglers vs. Ontario Reign home preseason game - Orleans Arena, 2:05 p.m.
