Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA - Fresno Grizzlies starting pitcher Sun-Woo Kim has been named the Pacific Coast League's Pitcher of the Week for his performance during the week of August 13-20.

Kim made the decision easy for voters with his five-hit, complete-game shutout August 18 against the Salt Lake Bees. It was the second nine inning complete-game shutout of the year for the Grizzlies, as fellow starter Chris Begg completed the task earlier this year. It is also just the seventh shutout of the year in the 16-team Pacific Coast League.

The shutout was only one of two outstanding performances from Kim, as he went 2-0 with a 1.84 ERA over his last two outings, including 10 strikeouts of opposing batters.

Since July 4-when Kim changed his number from 1 to 35 to change his luck on the mound-Kim has lowered his ERA from 8.38 to 5.26, while improving his record from 2-7 to 6-7.
