TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The New Orleans Zephyrs are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. This is the first year the Mets are the parent club. The Zephyrs were affiliated with Washington in 2005-2006. Last year, the Zephyrs finished third in the American South Division with a 72-71 record.

VS. NEW ORLEANS:

The Zephyrs took two of the three games completed June 15-17 at Zephyr Field. The finale of that series was suspended and was made up Aug. 19. The RedHawks took three of four from the Zephyrs April 26-29 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Hawks outscored the Z's 26-12. The RedHawks hit three of their nine April homers in the series. Last season at Zephyr Field, the Z's took seven of eight, sweeping a four-game set June 30-July 3.

SUSPENDED GAME FINISHED YESTERDAY:

The suspended game from June 18 was finished before the start of yesterday's game. The RedHawks won the suspended game 8-4. Steve Rowe was the winning pitcher and Scott Feldman picked up a save. The Redhawks now lead the season series 6-4.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 128 of the season, and the third of a 4-game series between Oklahoma and New Orleans. This is the 11th of 16 meetings between the RedHawks and Redbirds this season.

LAST GAME:

The Zephyrs evened the series with a 3-1 win yesterday. The Z's broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth with two runs on three hits and two walks to take a 3-1 lead. Ezequiel Astacio took the loss, pitching the eighth inning. Stater Derek Lee didn't figure into the decision, allowing one run on five hits in 4.1innings. Freddy Guzman led the way for the Hawks at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Chris Baker

makes his ninth start of the season for the RedHawks. He won his start Wednesday against Memphis, throwing seven shutout innings. Baker lost to the Z's at Zephyr Field June 16, allowing six runs (five earned) in six innings. Dave Williams goes to the mound for the Zephyrs. Williams hasn't faced the RedHawks this season.

REDHAWKS ON THE ROAD:

The RedHawks fell to 17-7 in their last 24 road games. The Hawks are hitting .276 with 29 homers in the last 24 road games. They have outscored their opponents 139-85 during that time. The pitching staff has a 3.04 ERA in that stretch.

GOLD RUSH:

Gold has put up big power numbers this month. He has eight homers with 19 RBIs in 18 August games. Gold leads the RedHawks with 21 homers and 88 RBIs. The RedHawks are 10-2 in the last 12 games Gold has homered.

FRANKLYN THE CLOSER:

German has converted his last two save chances. He has allowed only one run, with 12 strikouts in his last seven appearances, spanning 7.1 innings

LEAGUE LEADERS: Freddy Guzman

leads the league with 46 stolen bases. Tug Hulett is fifth with 85 runs scored.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The RedHawks are 3-11 on Monday this season, and they're 19-24 against lefties...the RedHawks are 5-0-1 in their last six road series...the Hawks have at least one extra-base hit in 21 straight games... Victor Diaz has 26 RBIs in his last 32 games..Hulett is hitting .332 since June 27th, raising his batting average 40 points to .278...Scott Feldman hasn't allowed an earned run in his last seven appearances out of the bullpen, dating back to Aug. 3. He has allowed just four hits while striking out seven in 7.2 innings.
