Sounds Open Final Homestand On Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return to action at Greer Stadium on Wednesday to open their final regular-season homestand of 2007. The Sounds will be playing 10 games in nine days with series against both the Oklahoma RedHawks (AAA-Rangers) and the division-rival Omaha Royals (AAA-Royals).

Gates will open for the Wednesday's series opener against the RedHawks at 4:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 6:00 p.m. It will be Red Cross Appreciation Night at Greer Stadium and all Red Cross volunteers throughout the Middle Tennessee area can receive a 2-for-1 ticket special by presenting a volunteer certificate at the box office. Following the game, Sara Lee will be on hand to pass out one free loaf of bread to each Sounds fan as they exit the stadium.

Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and Sounds fans are invited to enjoy the Miller Lite Concert Series, a free, one-hour concert prior to the start of the game. Every Thursday game during the 2007 season is Thirsty Thursday at Greer Stadium. Draft beverages throughout the stadium are only $1 until the conclusion of the fifth inning or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first.

Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Fans are invited to stay immediately following the game for a spectacular fireworks show provided by Your Select Pontiac-Buick-GMC Dealers. After the fireworks, Nesquik will be on hand passing out free milkshakes to each fan as they exit the stadium.

On Saturday, the Sounds will play a doubleheader against Oklahoma to make up an April rainout. The first of two seven-inning games is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the first 2,000 fans to enter the turnstiles will receive a complimentary Sounds 30th anniversary hat, courtesy of First Tennessee.

Prior to the game, fans are invited to participate in the final Purity Faith Night of the season. Local Christian rock bands SPUR58 and Over Ashes will be performing sets on the Faith Night stage near the main entrance.

The second game of the doubleheader will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. There will be another fireworks show immediately following the conclusion of the second game and Nesquik will be passing out free milkshakes to each fan as they exit the stadium.

The series finale against the RedHawks is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Every Sunday game during the 2007 season is Purity Sundae Sunday and Purity Dairies will be providing ice cream sundaes for only $1 throughout the entire game. Sunday is also Scout Day. Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops are invited to Greer and will participate in an on-field parade before the game honoring their work in the Scouts program. Following the game, Nesquik will be on hand to give each Sounds fan a free milkshake as they exit the stadium

Monday's series opener against the Omaha Royals will begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Sounds fans can receive a buy-one, get-one free ticket offer thanks to H.G. Hill. To participate, simply present an H.G. Hill receipt at the Sounds box office and receive up to four free tickets with the offer.

Every Monday during the 2007 season is Dollar Dog Night and fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs at all concession stands throughout Greer Stadium. Following the game, Sara Lee will be on hand passing out one free loaf of bread to each fan as the exit the stadium.

Tuesday is Top Friends Tuesday. All myspace.com users can receive a 2-for-1 ticket offer for up to eight tickets by adding the Nashville Sounds as one of your top friends. All phone orders must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance and game day purchases must be accompanied by a printout showing the Sounds as one of your top friends.

Thursday's series finale against Omaha is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are invited to enjoy a free, one-hour concert prior to the game brought to you by the Miller Lite Concert Series. It will be Thirsty Thursday at Greer and draft beverages throughout the stadium are only $1 through the fifth inning or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first.

Following the homestand, the Sounds depart on their final road trip of the season. The team will travel to Memphis to take on the division-rival Memphis Redbirds (AAA-Cardinals) for a four-game series that wraps up on Labor Day.
