About Last Night...The Beavers downed the Grizzlies 4-2 in ten innings on the strength of two Jon Knott home runs, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth. Reliever RHP Brandon Villafuerte (4-2) picked up his second straight loss, both of them coming in the tenth inning for Fresno.
RBI Machine...1B Michael Cervenak leads the Pacific Coast League in RBI with 59 this season, 1 ahead of teammate Todd Linden who is now with the Giants. Cervenak's total would be enough to lead the International League as well, with the leader there having 56 RBI. Before this season, Cervenak had back-to-back-to-back seasons for '02-'04 where he had at least 90 RBI.
His Old Stomping Grounds...C Yamid Haad was a member of the Portland Beavers for the '03 and'04 seasons before signing with the Giants after the '04 season. Haad is hitting .227 with 2 HR and 4 RBI against his old team in 7 games with the Grizzlies this season.
Tonight's Starting Pitcher... LHP Patrick Misch (2-5) will make his 15th start of the season tonight for Fresno. He received a no-decision in a 4-3 Grizzlies win over Salt Lake in his last outing allowing 2 R on 7 H in 6 IP while striking out a season-high 7.
