PORTLAND, Ore. - Josh Barfield was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and Chris Oxspring turned in another quality start for his team-leading sixth win as the Portland Beavers earned a 3-1 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at PGE Park Wednesday night.
The Beavers (37-36) got out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth. Barfield singled and Ben Johnson doubled, with Jon Knott's sac fly pushing across the first run. Adam Hyzdu then doubled home Johnson.
Doug Clark tripled with one out in the fifth and Fresno cut its deficit in half with Angel Chavez' RBI single. Barfield rounded out the scoring with a solo home run off Patrick Misch in the sixth. Misch gave up all three Portland runs to fall to 2-6.
