Pride recalled by Angels

SALT LAKE CITY-The Angels recalled OF Curtis Pride from rehabilitation with the Stingers today and activated him from the DL to replace OF Steve Finley on the 25-man roster. Finley was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 21) due to a strained right shoulder. Pride, 36, was placed on the 15-day disabled list, May 30 (retroactive to May 29) due to a strained right wrist.

In eight rehab games with the Stingers, he batted .250 (8-for-32) with three runs scored and four RBI. Overall with Stingers this season, Pride batted .305 (47-for-154) with six home runs and 35 RBI in 43 games.

Signed by the Angels to a minor league contract in 2005, Pride had his contract selected by the Angels, May 22. He batted .200 (1-for-5) with a double in three games, before being placed on the disabled list. Originally selected by the New York Mets in the 10th round of the 1986 free agent draft, Pride owns a career .253 (183-for-723) average with 19 home runs and 77 RBI in 356 Major League games.
