LAST WEEK: Fresno opened the season with a 3-2 win at Stockton on Saturday. The Falcons are 1-0-0 for 2 points, and are tied with Ontario for first place in the Pacific Division.
Saturday, October 18 @ Stockton FALCONS 3 Thunder 2
Trailing 1-0 late in the second period, the Falcons scored three times in a span of 2:42 to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission. Jarrett Konkle opened the scoring at 16:49, followed by Peter MacArthur at 18:12 and Mike Radja at 19:31. Stockton pulled back within one midway through the third period, but the Falcons held on the rest of the way for the one-goal win.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, October 24 vs. Bakersfield 7:35 p.m.
The Falcons return to Selland Arena for the first time since the 2002-03 season for their home opener. Friday is the front end of a home-and-home series with Bakersfield, and the first of seven meetings on the season against the Condors. Bakersfield fell to Ontario 2-1 in its season opener on Saturday.
PROMOTIONS: Opening Night 2008, presented by Eye-Q Vision Care, Pacific Electric & Gas, KSEE 24, and 95.7 The Fox. The Falcons will wear special opening night jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game to benefit the Junior Falcons. Prior to the game, the Falcons will retire the number 7 in honor of Mike Mathers, who passed away this summer. The Falcons also welcome back several former players, who will be recognized on the ice during pre-game ceremonies.
Saturday, October 25 @ Bakersfield 7:00 p.m.
Fresno heads to Bakersfield for the back end of the home-and-home series with the Condors.
FALCONS NOTES
- With Saturday's season-opening win over Stockton, Fresno is now 4-1-1 in ECHL season openers.
- Peter MacArthur and Mike Radja both scored their first professional goals in Saturday's win over Stockton.
- Joe Fallon earned his first pro win with 32 saves.
- Matt O'Dette is one game shy of 600 in his pro career.
