Salmon Kings Receive Homegrown Talent From Moose

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that forward Dan Gendur has been assigned to Victoria by the Manitoba Moose.

Gendur, a Victoria native, is under contract to the Vancouver Canucks after signing a three-year entry level contract with the NHL club on October 1st.

The 21-year-old spent the 2007-08 season with the Everett Silvertips of the WHL, recording 84 points (29g-55a) in 60 regular season games.

In his four seasons of junior hockey he played in 200 WHL games and registered 144 points (55-89-144) with Prince George and Everett.

The 5-11, 190lbs Gendur returns to his hometown to play for the Salmon Kings after spending the start of the season with the Manitoba Moose. With Manitoba he played in four games.

He was selected in the seventh round, 206th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

The Salmon Kings roster is at 21 players (11 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies).

The Salmon Kings' home schedule begins on Friday when the team welcomes the Stockton Thunder to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a 7:05 p.m. game.
