
Four Thunderbirds Named to WJC Camp

KENT - The Seattle Thunderbirds are pleased to announce the addition of Thomas Milic, Nolan Allan, Kevin Korchinski and Reid Schaefer to the World Juniors Team Canada Selection Camp.
Final roster decisions for Team Canada will be made ahead of their first pre-tournament game on December 19.
Milic, a draft-eligible 19-year-old, helped lead the Thunderbirds to the WHL Championship Series last season against the Edmonton Oil Kings. So far during the 2022-23 season, he has played in 14 games and has a save percentage of .919 and a goals against average of 2.35. He has 11 wins and three losses, including an overtime loss.
"We are excited for Thomas," says General Manager Bil La Forge. "He is a big-game goalie who excelled during the 2021-22 playoff run. He will be a tremendous benefit to Hockey Canada."
Allan was acquired in a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders on November 16. He has played in 22 games and has five goals and nine assists for a total of 14 points on the season. Allan was selected in the first round, 32nd overall of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Korchinski, has played in 20 games and has three goals and 25 assists for a total of 28 points thus far in the 2022-23 season. He was drafted in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, seventh overall.
During the 2022-23 season Schaefer has played in 21 games and has 15 goals and 11 assists for a total of 26 points. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round, 32nd overall of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
"We'd like to congratulate Reid, Kevin and Nolan on this accomplishment," says La Forge. "All three are poised to be difference makers and will represent the Thunderbirds well."
The World Junior Championship will take place December 26- January 5 in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
