Four Curve Players Named to EL All-Star Game

The Eastern League today announced the rosters for the 2004 Eastern League All-Star Game and four Altoona Curve players have been selected to participate in the July 14 contest in Bowie, MD.

RHP Ian Snell and OF Chris Duffy were selected by Curve fans as part of the Eastern League's fan balloting process. Fans from each of the 12 Eastern League cities selected one pitcher and one position player to represent their respective clubs. Also earning a spot on the Southern Division All-Star Team are RHP Bryan Bullington and 2B Jeff Keppinger.

***Snell is 5-4 with a 3.03 ERA in 15 starts for the Curve this season. The right-hander enters Wednesday's action with a 7th in the E.L in ERA and tied for 4th in strikeouts (74).

***Duffy has posted a .283 average with 5 HR, 24 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 75 games. The speedy centerfielder leads the league with 59 runs scored and has crossed the plate 29 times in the last 25 games.

***Bullington, the first overall selection in the 2002 draft, has gone 6-3 with a 3.86 ERA in his first 15 starts for Altoona. The right-hander will also participate in Major League Baseball's All-Star Futures Game July 11 in Houston.

***Keppinger leads the Eastern League and ranks second in all of professional baseball with a .389 average. The second baseman entered 11 consecutive games from June 16-26 with better than a .400 average and leads the league with 95 hits.

Bowie Baysox' manager Dave Trembley will manage the Southern Division All-Stars against the Northern Division squad.
