2004 Eastern League All-Star Team Announced

The Bowie Baysox Class Double A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles are proud to announce the selection of six Baysox players to the 3-A-Day of Dairy 2004 Eastern League All-Star Game. With six All-Stars the Baysox, who will host this year's game at Prince George's Stadium, have more representatives than any other Eastern League team.

OF Val Majewski (.299, 11 HR, 49 RBIs) and RHP Dave Crouthers (5-4, 4.73 ERA) were automatic selections, as the Baysox two leading vote getters in the Rite-Aid Fan balloting.

Other Baysox making the Southern Division squad are OF Keith Reed (.321, 8 HRs, 31 RBIs), who has the third highest batting average among active hitters in the Eastern League (EL).

1B/DH Walter Young (.247, 18 HRs, 54 RBIs) who is among the Eastern League leaders in home runs, RBIs and runs scored, and C Eli Whiteside (.285, 11 HRs, 34 RBIs) who is among the top-hitting catchers in the EL.

RHP Jacobo Sequea (2-1), April's Rolaids''s Relief Man of the Month, rounds out the Baysox representatives. Sequea has been the EL's most dominant closer with 16 saves and a 2.06 ERA .

RHP Gavin Floyd (3-4, 2.54 ERA) of Severna Park, MD will represent the Reading Phillies on the Southern Division squad along with 1B Ryan Howard, the EL in home runs (28) and RBIs (77).

LHP Wilfredo Ledezma (9-2, 2.01 ERA), the EL pitching leader will represent the Harrisburg Senators for the Southern Division squad.

As the host, Baysox Manager Dave Trembley and his staff will manage the Southern Division team. The coaching staff from the top team in the Northern Division will manage the Northern Division All-Stars.
