Four Fisher Cats go to All-Star game

(Manchester)—The New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced today that four members of the club have been selected to represent the Northern Division in the 2004 All-Star Game, July 14 at Bowie, Maryland.

Shortstop Aaron Hill and second baseman Dominic Rich were selected as All-Stars, along with right-handed starting pitchers Cam Reimers and Todd Ozias.

Hill, in his 2nd year of professional baseball, is hitting .261 with 5 HR and 38 RBI. Hill was the Toronto Blue Jays first round draft pick (13th overall) in 2003. He was the New York Penn League's Stedler Award winner last year, given to the top pro prospect, after hitting .361 with 4 HR and 34 RBI in 33 games with Single-A Auburn.

Rich was the Blue Jays second round draft pick in 2000. He's hitting .278 with 5 HR and 39 RBI. Rich is in his second full season at the Class AA level.

He hit .259 for the New Haven Ravens last year. Rich was selected to the NY Penn-League All-Star Game in 2000, and was named to the FSL year-end All-Star team at second base in 2002.

Reimers, taken in the 35th round of the 1998 draft, was New Hampshire's opening day starter. Going into his start tonight, he's 7-3, with a 2.69 ERA. Reimers was one of the top starters in the Eastern League last year, with a 10-5 record and a 3.08 ERA for New Haven.

Ozias, in his first year as a starting pitcher, is 7-3, with a 3.24 ERA. He was taken in the eighth round of the 1998 draft by San Francisco. He was signed by Toronto after his release from the Pittsburgh organization last year. Ozias went 2-2 with a 1.62 ERA last year for the Eastern League's Altoona Curve.

The Eastern League All-Star Game will be played at Bowie's Prince George's Stadium on July 14. The festivities will include the Arby's Home Run Derby feat uring 6 of the league's top power-hitters, and the 3-A-Day of Dairy Eastern League All-Star Game will be played at 7:05 p.m.
