Four Chances Remain at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to Qualify for $100k

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts announced Friday that twelve lucky Wingnuts' fans have qualified for the finals drawing in the Kansas Star Casino "Launch-a-Ball" Grand Prize.
Following the final regular season home game on Friday, August 26th versus the Amarillo Sox, two lucky fans will be randomly selected from the qualifying "Launch-a-Ball" nightly jackpot winners for a chance to throw for the grand prize of $100,000.
"Launch-a-Ball has been a hit from the start of our season," said Wingnuts' majority owner Steve Ruud. "The chance to win the $100,000 grand prize has added a whole new sense of excitement to our games, and contributed to our successful attendance numbers this season."
Since announcing the addition of the Kansas Star Casino grand prize on July 8th, 2011, twelve Launch-a-Ball "jackpot" winners at Friday, Saturday and Sunday home games have qualified to be entered into the drawing for a chance to win $100,000. The two finalists will stand atop the main pitcher's mound at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium and throw to a target positioned 60-feet, six-inches away. If either contestant throws three strikes through the target at home plate, before throwing four balls outside of the target, they will win the grand prize of $100,000 cash.
Beginning tonight at 7:05 p.m., there are still four games left for fans to qualify for the grand prize. Those games include August 19th, August 20th, August 21st & Friday, August 26th.
The Wingnuts introduced Launch-a-Ball at the beginning of the 2011 season. The promotion takes place immediately following every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Wingnuts' home game at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Fans at least 21 years of age can purchase Launch-a-Balls in the Wingnuts' gift shop for just $1.00. When the signal is given, the Launch-a-Balls are thrown onto the field where fans aim for the jackpot bucket, and other great prizes.
Fans over 21 years of age will also have the opportunity to apply at the game to join the Kansas Star Casino Lucky Star Player's Club and have a chance to win one of three Kansas-made Chevy Malibu's.
