Orlando Solar Bears News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears have added four more players to its training camp roster, the team announced today.
Joining Orlando are defenseman Taylor Doherty, who had previously agreed to terms with the Solar Bears this offseason, and had been in attendance in the training camp of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, while forwards Tony Cameranesi and Cason Hohmann and defenseman Willie Corrin have been reassigned to the Solar Bears from Orlando's AHL affiliate.
Cameranesi (CAM-er-ah-NEES-ee), 23, joins the Solar Bears as he begins his first full season of professional hockey after making his debut with the Toronto Marlies in a six-game stint at the conclusion of the 2015-16 season, where he netted two goals.
Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound center played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2012-16, where he posted totals of 124 points (41g-83a) and 77 penalty minutes in 152 games for the Bulldogs.
Cameranesi was a fifth round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs (130th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Hohmann, 23, finished third in scoring among first-year players last season after he racked up 57 points (20g-37a) and 16 penalty minutes in 59 games for Elmira, and was subsequently named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward also suited up in three games with the AHL's Rochester Americans.
Corrin, 25, will play his first full pro season after recording two assists and six penalty minutes in four games with the Marlies last season after completing a four-year career with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In 111 games for the Bulldogs, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound blueliner accumulated 28 points (4g-24a) and 71 penalty minutes.
