
Former NHLer Wallace Signs Aces Contract

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Tim Wallace is a signed, sealed and delivered member of the Alaska Aces.
Wallace signed on the dotted line with the Glacier Blue Wednesday and his contract was approved by the ECHL.
Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Thursday ahead of the Aces exhibition game against the South Carolina Stingrays.
Wallace, 32, grew up in Anchorage and attended Service High School and played with the Alaska All Stars comp program. He then participated in the United States National Team Development Program before heading the University of Notre Dame.
The 6-1, 205 pound center played in the Pittsburgh Penguins system, making his NHL debut in black and gold in the 2008-09 season. Wallace also played in the NHL for the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes.
Wallace scored 4 goals with 9 assists for 13 points in the NHL.
He's been participating in the Aces training camp on a professional tryout contract and made his Aces debut in the Tuesday night exhibition game against South Carolina.
In other transactions, the Aces have released goaltender Jeff Barney, forward Tim Boyle and defenseman Michael Lipari.
The team also put forwards Justin Breton and Tyler Ruegsegger on reserve and place defenseman Daniel Johnston on the 21-day injured reserve list.
Game time tonight against South Carolina is 7:15 at the Sullivan Arena.
