
Fortununs Recalled to Aeros

Lafayette, LA â The Houston Aeros today announced the team has recalled defenseman Max Fortunus. The 21 year old defenseman is expected to join the Aeros and be available for a Thursday night game against the Rochester Americans This call up is the 2nd of the week as goaltender Kyle Kettles rejoined the Aeros on Monday.
Fortunus has posted five points (1-4=5) and six penalty minutes in 13 games with the IceGators. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of La Prairie, Que., appeared in 12 games last season with Houston, collecting two points and two penalty minutes. Fortunus spent most of his 2003-04 rookie campaign with Louisiana, totaling 18 points (3-15=18) and 27 penalty minutes in 64 games. Fortunus won team awards for Defensive Player of the Year and Unsung Hero.
"If it wasn't for the NHL lock out, Max would have begun the season in the AHL" said Todd Gordon, the IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations. "We will miss Max on the ice, but hope he plays well up in Houston."
