December 1, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

First EVER Lunch Game!

Parking for Thursday game: For the 10:30 a.m. game on December 2nd parking will be available for those with parking passes in the old Suite lot. This lot is found south of the railroad tracks and directly behind the County's covered parking structure. The covered parking garage will not be available due to the normal work day.

Breakfast- the most important meal of the day! The club room will be serving a variety of breakfast goodies during Thursday's morning game. Enjoy a breakfast buffet including fresh fruit, bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sasuage while you watch your Condors scramble the Fresno Falcons. If you can't get away in time for breakfast, fear not! A special lunch combo will also be available for those who can only make it during their lunch hour.

If you can't make it out for day time hockey- don't let that keep you from the action! The work has piled up from the holiday and there's just no way for you to leave the office for the entire game, not a problem. Bring your clients, colleagues, and friends and come spend your lunch hour with the Condors and receive 2-for-1 admission if you purchase a ticket after 11:30am. That won't work either? This Thursday's 10:30 a.m. match can be heard live, as always, on KGEO 1230 AM or by internet webcast at www.bakersfieldcondors.com. In addition, this Thursday the Condors will return to the tv airwaves with a live telecast on Bright House Networks channel 21 with a replay that same night at 7:00 p.m.

Record Breaking Teddy Bear Toss

This past Saturday fans were encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to throw onto the ice when the Condors scored their first goal of the night. Condors rookie Connor James scored the first goal at the 5:46 mark of the third period as the Condors skated to a come from behind, 3-2 shootout victory over the Victoria Salmon Kings in front of 8,204 fans - the third largest crowd in Condors history. An amazing 7,149 stuffed animals were collected, destroying last season's record and pushing the six-year total over 26,000. The animals will be donated to underprivileged children this holiday season by the United Way of Kern County.

Upcoming Games

Saturday, December 11 the Condors face the Greenville Grrrowl as KGET-TV 17 & Subway giveaway Condors sling backpacks to the first 2,000 children, 12 & under. Also don't miss the R&D Leather Furniture/Stay Focused Ministries Toy Drive, as fans can receive $1.00 terrace admission with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m.

Saturday December 18, watch the Condors take on the Idaho Steelheads. WB-TV 12 & The Big 96.5 present the World's Largest Pillow Fight. Fans are encouraged to bring a pillow and join the Condors as we attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest pillow fight. The pillows will then be collected and donated to the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter and other local charities.
