Forney Returns To Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have re-assigned left wing MICHAEL FORNEY from the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators to the Chicago Wolves.

FORNEY has posted 10 goals, 11 assists and 21 points in 50 outings with Gwinnett during his professional debut this season. He made his American Hockey League debut in two games with the Wolves after joining the team on Feb. 19.

The 21-year-old forward was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with their third choice, 80th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and spent last season with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), where he paced that squad with 60 points (26G, 34A) in 59 outings.

The Thief River Falls, Minn., native also spent two seasons (2006-08) at the University of North Dakota (WCHA), where he tallied two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 19 games.
