Boston Bruins Alumni Team Game To Precede Wolf Pack Home Game March 27
March 2, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
HARTFORD, March 2, 2010: Northland AEG, in partnership with the Central CT Youth Hockey Association (CCYHA), announced today that the Hartford Wolf Pack's home game at the XL Center Saturday, March 27 vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers will include a pregame appearance by the Boston Bruins Alumni Team.
Scheduled to lead the Bruins Alumni Team are such Bruin legends as Rick Middleton, Brad Park and Terry O'Reilly. Their squad will take on a team comprised of local coaches, celebrities and hockey enthusiasts starting at 1:00 PM on March 27. Following the alumni game, motivational speaker and former Boston University hockey player Travis Roy will speak about the challenges of successfully overcoming a life-altering spinal cord injury.
The alumni game will act as a fund-raiser for the Travis Roy Foundation and CCYHA. Admission to the alumni game is $25, and that fee also entitles fans to enjoy the Travis Roy speech and the Wolf Pack game. Of that $25 charge, $7.50 of each ticket will go to the Travis Roy Foundation and $7.50 will go to CCYHA.
Fund-raiser tickets can be obtained through CCYHA's Jeff Wolfson, at (860) 573-4291 or jeffwolfson@comcast.net.
The Travis Roy Foundation, inspired by Roy's own story, was established in 1997 to help spinal cord injury survivors and to fund research into a cure for paralysis.
The Wolf Pack's next action is this Saturday night, March 6, when the Pack travels to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs in a 7:00 game (WTIC HD-2, www.hartfordwolfpack.com, www.wtic.com ). The Wolf Pack are next on home ice Saturday, March 13, hosting the Lowell Devils in a 7:00 game.
Single-game tickets for 2009-10 Hartford Wolf Pack regular season home games are on sale now at the XL Center box office, through Ticketmaster Charge-by-Phone at 1-800-745-3000 and on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com.
