Former University of Louisville star Adam Duvall returned to the Augusta lineup for the first time since July 21 and delivered two doubles and two runs batted in as the GreenJackets defeated the Lexington Legends 5-2 Thursday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Duvall, who had been sidelined due to a hamstring injury, drove in the game's first run when he doubled in the second inning, scoring Josh Mazzola, who had led off the inning with a single.

The Legends tied the score in the bottom of the fifth. Daniel Adamson led off with a single, but was forced at second on Tyler Burnett's grounder. Burnett stole second, went to third on a single by Ben Orloff and came home on a sacrifice fly to right field by Roberto Pena.

Augusta broke the tie in the seventh on a double by Ryan Scoma and an RBI single by Joel Weeks.

Mazzola led off the ninth with his 11th home run of the year to give the GreenJackets a 3-1 lead. Scoma and Duvall followed with back-to-back doubles to produce another run. Weeks struck out, but Rafael Rodriguez walked and Bobby Haney doubled, scoring Duvall with Augusta's final run.

Lexington's Ben Heath hit his fourth home run of the year with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to close out the scoring.

Augusta starter Mike Kickham (4-7) worked the first six innings and allowed two hits. He retired the first 10 Lexington batters before Jay Austin walked in the fourth inning.

Mike Foltynewicz (5-9) was the starting and losing pitcher for Lexington. In six and two-thirds innings, he allowed five hits and two runs, walked one batter and struck out seven.

Augusta has taken the first two games of the four-game series, which continues Friday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
