CHARLESTON, W. Va. - Three West Virginia pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout, as the Power defeated the RiverDogs, 4-0, in South Atlantic League action at Appalachian Power Park Thursday night.

With the victory, West Virginia improved to 20-26, 55-59 overall, while Charleston sees its brief two-game win streak end in dropping to 19-27, 45-71 overall in clinching consecutive losing seasons for the first time since the 2001-02 seasons.

A 0-0 tie lasted until the fourth inning, when West Virginia powered up its offense against Charleston's Jose Ramirez in taking a 3-0 lead. Elias Diaz knocked a bases-loaded double off the left-field wall to plate a pair, while Kevin Mort contributed a RBI groundout two batters later.

Dan Grovatt led off the sixth inning with a solo home run off Ramirez for his sixth of the campaign and a 4-0 cushion.
