
Former Blade Hendricks makes NHL debut

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are proud to announce that former Everblade forward Matt Hendricks made his National Hockey League debut on last night with the Colorado Avalanche in their 3-0 loss to the Atlanta Thrashers.
Henricks is the 16th player to dress both for the Everblades and play a game in the NHL, and is the 401st former ECHL player to skate in the NHL. In his NHL debut Hendricks, wearing number 53, finished with two shots, but no points and one minor penalty in 17 shifts for a total of 8:38 of ice time.
Prior to his call-up Hendricks had played in 32 games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League this season notching 23 points (12g, 11a) and 53 penalty minutes.
The 27-year-old split his rookie season in 2004-05 between the Everblades and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL. The Blaine, Minnesota native played in 54 regular season games with the Everblades that year scoring 50 points (24g, 26a) and also skated in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Henricks joins forward Kenndal McArdle as former Blades who have made their NHL debuts this season. McArdle made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers on December 2.

The Everblades return to action on Friday, March 13when they travel to Mississippi to take on the Sea Wolves from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum at 8:05 p.m.! The Everblades' next home game is Tuesday, March 17 when they host the Charlotte Checkers at 7:30 p.m.
