Edmonton Elks News Release
(EDMONTON) On September 10th, more than 50,000 fans cheered the Eskimos to victory over the Calgary Stampeders and did their best to defeat hunger by donating more than 7,700 kg in food and $16,902 in cash to the Edmonton Food Bank.
"We are thrilled with the generosity of Eskimo fans. The support we receive from the community is vital to our work, and this annual event is a big part of our ability to feed those in need," said the Food Bank's Executive Director, Marjorie Bencz.
The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club would like to thank volunteers, player spouses and fans for showing their support and providing help to the Edmonton Food Bank for the 21st annual Tackle Hunger night at Commonwealth Stadium.
The Eskimos visit the BC Lions on Saturday, September 18th. The next home game for the Edmonton Eskimos is on Saturday, September 25th at 7:30 p.m. versus the Toronto Argonauts.
