SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels are looking for a reversal of their recent fortunes as they begin a three-game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium tonight. After losing Sunday's series finale to Erie, Richmond has now lost five of its last seven games. Richmond grabbed an early 1-0 lead against the SeaWolves on a lead-off home run from Gary Brown. After Erie evened the score at 1-1 with a run in the top of the fifth, the SeaWolves struck for four runs in the seventh inning on four hits, including RBI singles from Brandon Douglas and Corey Jones. Erie starter Kelvin De La Cruz and reliever Michael Morrison combined to retire the final 10 Richmond batters in the contest. New Hampshire is also struggling as the Fisher Cats have lost seven of their last eight games and currently reside in sixth place in the Eastern Division with a 21-34 record, the worst mark in the Eastern League. The Flying Squirrels went 2-4 against New Hampshire in 2011 including a 2-1 mark in Manchester. Richmond is 7-9 all-time against the Fisher Cats, including the 2011 ELCS, which New Hampshire won in four games. Richmond is 4-2 all-time in Manchester. The two teams will meet six times in 2012, three times in Manchester and three times in Richmond. Following this three-game series, the Flying Squirrels and the Fisher Cats will meet again in Richmond in next week (6/12-6/14).

TODAY'S PITCHERS: RHP Craig Westcott vs. RHP Joel Carreno Westcott: Makes his twelfth start of the season for the Flying Squirrels tonight. In his last start, Westcott allowed six hits and four earned runs along with two walks and two strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched at Altoona Wednesday. He earned his fifth win of the season in Richmond's 5-4 triumph. Tonight's game will be Westcott's second career start against the Fisher Cats. He is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA against New Hampshire. After splitting the 2010 season between Advanced-A San Jose and Richmond, Westcott spent the entire 2011 campaign back in San Jose. Westcott enjoyed a banner year in the California League as he posted a 13-4 record with a 3.42 ERA in 25 appearances, including 24 starts. His 13 wins tied for the most in the Cal League and he finished fourth in the circuit in ERA (3.42). As a result, Westcott was named both a Mid-Season and Postseason All-Star. He was also a Mid-Season All-Star in the Cal League in 2010 after going 6-0 with a miniscule 1.83 ERA in 13 starts with San Jose before being promoted to Richmond. Westcott did not enjoy the same level of success with the Flying Squirrels however, as he compiled a 3-3 mark with a 5.13 ERA in the second half of the season. He owns a record of 34-11 with a 3.44 ERA in 76 career minor league appearances, including 68 starts. The Chalmette, LA native was selected by the Giants in the 30th round of the 2009 June Draft out of Belhaven (MS) College.

Carreno: Makes his ninth start of the season and his fourth start for New Hampshire tonight. In his last start, Carreno allowed four hits and two earned runs along with two walks and seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched at New Britain Friday. He took the loss in New Hampshire's 6-5 setback. Carreno began the season with Triple-A Las Vegas and he posted a 2-2 record with a 6.20 ERA in four starts with the 51s. The right-hander spent the entire 2011 season with New Hampshire. He went 7-9 with a 3.41 ERA in 24 appearances, including 23 starts, with the Fisher Cats. Tonight's game will be his second career start against Richmond.

Carreno is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA against the Flying Squirrels. He has a career record of 41-35 with a 3.24 ERA in 117 appearances, including 112 starts. He signed as a non-drafted free agent with Toronto on October 11, 2004.

OFFENSIVE WOES: Collectively, the Flying Squirrels are struggling at the plate. As a team, Richmond is batting .243 for the season, which ranks 11th in the 12-team Eastern League, ahead of New Britain (.236). Additionally, Richmond is last in the circuit in runs scored (193), RBIs (181) and triples (5). The Flying Squirrels are also 11th in the circuit in home runs (22) ahead of Altoona (20). After going 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position in Sunday's loss to Erie, Richmond is now hitting .223 (106-for-475) with runners in scoring position.

THE GREAT GLOOR: Flying Squirrels reliever Chris Gloor continues to shine on the mound. He was Richmond's fi rst pitcher when play resumed in the suspended game last night. The 25-year-old southpaw did not allow a run in four innings pitched Saturday, the longest outing he's logged as a reliever in pro ball. Gloor has now worked eight consecutive scoreless outings for the Flying Squirrels.

BEARING DOWN: Richmond starter Mike Kickham turned in his best performance of the season Saturday night. The former Missouri State Bear allowed just two hits and one walk while recording a season-high eight strikeouts in seven innings pitched. He earned his fourth win of the season and picked up the first complete game of his professional career in Richmond's 5-0 triumph.
