SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will aim for their fifth consecutive win, which would establish a new season-high, when they take on the Harrisburg Senators in game two of a five-game series at Metro Bank Park tonight. Last night, Richmond exploded for a seven runs in the second inning, which established a new season-high, en route to a 12-3 rout of Harrisburg at Metro Bank Park. Juan Perez homered in the inning and Tommy Joseph smacked a grand slam to punctuate the frame. It was the second Flying Squirrels grand slam this season (Chris Dominguez hit one against Bowie May 11) and the fourth in franchise history. Daniel Mayora also homered for Richmond, which got a quality start from Mike Kickham (7-7), who allowed four hits and one unearned run in 7.2 innings of work. Trevor Holder (0-1) gave up six hits and seven earned runs in just 1.2 innings pitched in his Double-A debut and took the loss. The Flying Squirrels went 13-8 against Harrisburg in 2011 including a 10-5 mark in the River City. Richmond is 20-17 all-time against the Senators and the club is 9-7 all-time at Metro Bank Park. The two teams will meet 20 times in 2012, 10 times in Harrisburg and 10 times in Richmond. The Flying Squirrels swept Harrisburg in an abbreviated two-game series at Metro Bank Park in early May (5/7-5/9). Harrisburg won two out of three games against the Flying Squirrels at The Diamond in mid-May (5/15-17). Following this five-game series, the two teams will meet again at The Diamond for a three-game series August 7-9.

Richmond is now 29-10 in games in which at least one Squirrel hits a home run. Perez and Joseph each homered in the second inning, which enabled the Flying Squirrels to post seven runs in the frame, their highest total in a single inning in 2012.
