The Florence Freedom came into last night's game looking to climb into a tie for first with their opponent, the Washington Wild Things.
Florence got run support early on a Kyle Geswein two-run homer, his tenth, Geswein went 2-4 Freedom starting 3B Zack Schmidt went 1-3 with two RBIs. Mike Galloway continued his hitting ways going 2-3, with a walk, raising his batting average to .412. Mike Dennison pitched solidly last night, he went seven and a third, gave up four runs on eight hits, he stuck out six. Ted Rowe came into the ninth and closed out the ballgame for his fourth save since taking over the closer position for the Freedom.
With last night's victory, Florence is in a three way tie for first in the Frontier League East, along with Evansville, and Tonight's foes, the Washington Wild Things. First pitch tonight in Florence Kentucky is at 7:05, but the gates open at 5:30 at Champion Window Field. Washington's Brendon Davis (1-1) is set to go against Florence's Jason Bowlin (4-1).
