Crestwood, IL - The Windy City ThunderBolts fell to the Kalamazoo Kings on Friday night by a score of 8-4.

The Kings tallied another three runs in the next inning. Back-to-back singles by Nick Rogers and Pete Pirman, followed by a double by Tim Brown accounted for two runs.
Anderson tossed a scoreless third but was touched for two runs in the fourth and left after three and two-third innings. After four, the ThunderBolts were down 8-0.
The Windy City bats awoke in the bottom half of the sixth. The ThunderBolts strung together five consecutive singles by the heart of the batting order to post three runs on the scoreboard. Runs batted in were recorded by third baseman Jason Crosland, designated hitter Ryan Andrews, and second baseman Jose Gutierrez.
The ThunderBolts cut the deficit to 8-4 in the seventh. Center fielder Jerome McCoy drew a walk to lead off the inning and swiped second base for his sixteenth steal of the season. With one out, right fielder Nick Johnson slammed a double to the right field corner to drive home McCoy.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth, shortstop Scott Vetter drew a walk. Johnson followed with an infield single to put two men on. The two final batters went down swinging for the ThunderBolts to keep it an 8-4 final.
Anderson drew the loss for the ThunderBolts, dropping his record to 0-1. Preston Simms, Steve Ziroli, and Matt Hines shut down the Kalamazoo bats in five and one-third innings of relief. Kings' starter Lee Naplin earned the win, lasting six-plus innings, surrendering four runs.
