Manchester Monarchs News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA. - The Los Angeles Kings have activated left winger Kip Brennan off of the injured reserve list and have assigned left winger Ryan Flinn to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

Brennan, 22, has appeared in 13 games with the Kings this season going scoreless with 31 penalty minutes. He has missed the last eight Kings games due to a sprained left knee, which he suffered during the Kings-Edmonton Oilers game on January 16 in Edmonton. The 6-4, 228-pound native of Kingston, Ontario, has also appeared in 15 games this season with the Monarchs, with three points (2-1=3) and 71 penalty minutes. Originally selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (103rd overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Brennan was placed on the injured reserve list on January 22. He has zero and points and 53 penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games, all with the Kings.

Flinn, 22, has played in one game for the Kings this season, going scoreless with five penalty minutes. He was recalled by the Kings on February 4 after recording four points (2-2=4) and 95 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Monarchs this season. In 10 games last season with the Kings, after he made his NHL/Kings debut earlier in the year, the 6-5, 248-pound native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, recorded zero points and 51 penalty minutes. The Kings signed him as a free agent on January 9, 2002.

The Kings host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight (7:30 p.m.) in the final game of a three-game homestand. Tonight's game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710-KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
