Grand Rapids Griffins News Release

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Friday announced that center Stacy Roest has been recalled by the Detroit Red Wings. In addition, the Griffins today released goaltender Alfie Michaud and signed goaltender Doug Teskey to a professional tryout.

Roest, 28, ranks tenth in the AHL and third on the Griffins with 47 points (16-31-47) in 49 games. His recent five-game goal-scoring streak (Jan. 17-28) fell one game shy of the franchise record, and his five-game assist streak from Nov. 20-28 tied for the team-high this season. Roest spent the last two seasons with the NHL's Minnesota Wild, recording 48 points (17-31-48) in 134 outings. He also played in 108 games with the Red Wings from 1998-2000, tallying 28 points (11-17-28).

The 27-year-old Teskey has a 19-6-4 record and one shutout in 32 appearances for the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League.

While playing last season with the United Hockey League's Fort Wayne Komets, Teskey ranked among the league leaders with six shutouts (1st), a 2.41 GAA (4th), 2738:42 minutes (5th) and a 0.916 save percentage (T4th). Teskey will serve as the backup to Marc Lamothe tonight when the Griffins host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:30 p.m.
