
Flames Send For Regehr Again

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have recalled defenseman Richie Regehr from Omaha. It is Regehr's second recall to the Flames in the last two weeks.
Regehr was re-assigned to the Knights on Thursday and had one assist last night in the Knights' 3-1 win over the Chicago Wolves. In 32 games with the Knights this season, Regehr has earned 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) with two power play goals, one short-handed goal and 36 penalty minutes. Richie, the younger brother of Flames' defenseman Robyn Regehr, made his NHL debut with the Flames on December 29, 2005, earning an assist in Calgary's 4-2 win over Minnesota. He played in three games with the Flames before his re-assignment on January 5th. In 96 AHL career games, the native of Bundung, Indonesia has accumulated 44 points (12 goals, 32 assists) with 96 penalty minutes with Omaha and Lowell.
The 6'0" 195 lbs. rearguard made his professional debut during the 2004-05 campaign after playing in 307 games in the Western Hockey League with Kelowna and Portland posting 199 points (49 goals, 150 assists) and 355 penalty minutes. The Flames signed Regehr as a free agent on July 6, 2004.
The Knights continue the three-in-three weekend tonight when they visit the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:30 p.m. They'll finish the weekend on Sunday at Chicago for a 5:00 p.m. face-off. Tickets for all home games are available at the Civic Auditorium box office, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office is open through the opening face-off on game nights.
