Abbotsford Heat News Release

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the assignment of defenseman John Negrin to Quad City of the American Hockey League.

Negrin, a 6"3", 200lb rearguard who was a Flames 3rd round draft pick in 2007, split the 2008-09 WHL season between the Kootenay Ice and the Swift Current Broncos. The Broncos season came to an end last night following a 7 game first round defeat at the hands of the Medicine Hat Tigers. Negrin recorded 6 playoff points (2 goals and 4 assists); only two points shy of the lead among WHL defencemen while finishing second on Broncos overall team scoring.

The Quad City Flames are home three times this week. On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Admirals visit the i wireless Center for the final time. The Chicago Wolves come calling on Friday, and Peoria comes to the Quad Cities on Saturday. All games start at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all three contests are available now at the i wireless Center Box Office, via phone at 1-800-745-3000 or on-line at ticketmaster.com.
