Admirals Sign Forward John Swanson to Tryout

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals have signed forward John Swanson to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO), Admirals General Manager Mike Butters announced today.

Swanson, 23, is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound native of St. Cloud, Minnesota. He recently concluded his collegiate hockey career at St. Cloud State University. The senior amassed nine goals and 17 assists in 37 games for the Huskies this season. In 149 career games with SCSU, Swanson totaled 31 goals and 50 assists.

Prior to attending college, Swanson skated two seasons in the United States Hockey League between the Lincoln Stars and Chicago Steel, scoring 18 goals and 20 assists in 65 games.

The Admirals next take to the ice tomorrow night for their final matchup of the season against the Hershey Bears. The puck drops at Scope at 7:15 p.m.
