Columbus Recalls Nikita Filatov

Syracuse, NY (April 1, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that he Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Nikita Filatov.

Filatov, 18, has appeared in 39 games with the Crunch this season, recording 16 goals, 16 assists and 24 penalty minutes. He has also skated in eight games with Columbus this year, tallying four goals.

Filatov left the club in December to participate in the 2009 World Juniors, where he led his club and was tied for fourth in the tournament in scoring with 11 points (8g, 3a), captaining Team Russia to a bronze medal finish.

A native of Moscow, Russia, Filatov was drafted by Columbus in the first round, sixth overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
