Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros and Houston Humane Society (HHS) are teaming up for Chilly's Pet Pals night at Toyota Center on Thursday, April 2. Chilly, the Aeros mascot, wants to help his friends find a good home through Houston Humane Society's mobile pet adoption at the 7:05 p.m. game against the Iowa Chops. Fans are also invited to bring their own dogs to the game and Bark Busters will provide complimentary training demonstration from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The Aeros will also have a special guest at the game. Stump, a Sussex Spaniel, was winner of the coveted Best In Show Prize at the 133rd Annual Westminster Kennel Club show this past February. He is a native Houstonian and has been named the Honorary Aero for the game. He will join Flash and Burnie from Houston Humane Society who will drop the first puck.
The Aeros are also proud to welcome the Shadydale Drum Corps to the game as they will once again perform live during the first intermission. The Shadydale Drum Corps in HISD is considered one of the best in the city.
Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the special event at Toyota Center. There will be a designated upper end zone section for fans that bring their dogs and a portion from the specially purchased tickets will be donated to HHS. Fans can purchase upper end zone seats for $13 ($3 will be directly donated to HHS) and tickets for their dogs are just $10 per dog ($5 will be directly donated to HHS). Seating for the dogs is limited to the first 100 K-9s, and space is running out. Call Laura at the Aeros front office at (713) 361- 7947 for tickets. For those not attending the game with their dog, center ice tickets are available for $31. Five dollars from each of those tickets will be donated.
The Aeros ask that all fans have current tags and vaccinations for all dogs entering the building, and all dogs must be on a non-retractable leash.
The Aeros are currently in second place in the West Division with six games remaining on the schedule. Houston has just two more home games after Chilly's Pet Pals night. On April 10, the Aeros will celebrate MS/Diabetes and Yuppie Night, and on April 12, the ZOOperstars! will perform live at the final game. For tickets, please call (713) 974-PUCK or visit AEROS.com.
