August 4, 2011 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Williamsport Crosscutters collected five runs on five hits in the third inning Thursday to defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones 5-1 at MCU Park.

The Cutters hit for the cycle in the third inning en route to the five-run explosion in the frame. Francisco Diaz doubled, Peter Lavin and Luis Unda singled, Kelly Dugan tripled, and Aaron Altherr homered to make it 5-0.

Brooklyn managed one run in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out RBI single to right by Xorge Carillo.

That 5-1 score would be the final, as Cutters starter Lino Martinez went six strong innings for his team-leading fifth win. He allowed just one run on three hits while striking out seven. Williamsport relievers Hector Neris, Colton Murray, and Juary Gomez each fired a shutout inning to seal the victory for the visitors.

The Cutters hit the road for two games in Batavia before returning home to take on the Muckdogs Sunday at 5:05pm. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com
