New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH - Zach Logue allowed two runs on six hits and received plenty of offensive support as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) completed a three-game sweep of the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) with a 7-2 win on Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Logue (W, 2-0) went the first six innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. He walked three and struck out one batter. Jackson McClelland and Bryan Baker finished up the final three frames without allowing a run.
The Fisher Cats (10-9) started the game with consecutive doubles by Forrest Wall and Santiago Espinal for a quick run against Thunder starter Albert Abreu (L, 0-2). Three batters later, Vinny Capra singled home Espinal to make it 2-0.
Trenton (10-7) tied the game in the top of the second inning after a Chris Gittens double and a Jhalan Jackson home run.
New Hampshire started the second inning with consecutive doubles by Chad Spanberger and Brock Lundquist to regain a 3-2 lead. Lundquist then advanced on a bunt by Brandon Grudzielanek, and scored on groundout by Espinal.
Two more extra base hits led to a 6-2 lead in the third. Gunnar Heidt doubled off the right field wall and Chad Spanberger hit his second home run of the season.
With the bases loaded in the fifth on an infield single by Capra and a pair of walks, Grudzielanek grounded out for another run.
